During the summer, CKL operates full-day academic camps based at school and community locations. The CKL Summer Academy provides an opportunity for students to interact with their peers in a stress-free environment emphasizing collaboration and creative thinking. Students are placed in teams by grade-level and spend the day participating in activities designed to build teamwork and problem-solving skills. Certified teachers facilitate student-driven projects that develop reading, math and critical thinking skills. The academic work is only part of a day filled with arts, sports and other fun outdoor activities and games. Students also participate in experiential enrichment activities such as dance, tennis, drama and art. To supplement their hands-on-learning experiences, students also take field trips during the summer.
