Cool Kids Learn receives new grant award from TD Charitable Foundation
In recognition of local charities making positive change for residents in their communities, the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, has awarded Cool Kids Learn $5,000 to strengthen organization capacity and further promote its mission of educating underprivileged children. In celebration of the new TD Bank store in Miami Lakes, Andrea Kilpatrick, President of Cool Kids Learn, joined bank representatives to accept the award from the TD Charitable Foundation.

Cool Kids Learn Enters the Holiday Season!
Cool Kids Learn will be serving over 2,300 children during the first half of the school year. With a minimal requirement of 20 hours of service for each student, this adds up to over 46,000 hours of instruction for low-income children! With that said, this has been an extremely busy and exciting time for those within the organization.

Cool Kids Learn, Inc. Runs Holiday Book Drive for Underprivileged Youth
Many kids in South Florida are awaiting the holiday season. School is out of session. It is a time to spend with family. Unfortunately, according to Karl Alexander, Professor of Sociology at John’s Hopkins University, breaks from school are also the time when the achievement gap widens the most between low-income and high-income students.

Cool Kids Learn, Inc. Awarded $10,000 Donation from The Community Foundation of Broward
Cool Kids Learn has received a grant of $10,000 from the Community Foundation of Broward to implement its Decision CKL (DCKL) program. Decision CKL (DCKL) was introduced in 2008 as a pilot program in Miami, Florida. Its objective is to provide a meaningful educational intervention for at-risk youth, ages 7-14.

Cool Kids Learn, Inc. has been selected by Miami-Dade County Public Schools as a provider of on site after-care services. Beginning with the 2007-2008 school year, Cool Kids Learn, Inc. is extending its services at six schools to include after-care.

Cool Kids Learn, a nonprofit organization serving over 3,000 elementary and middle school students at over 20 school and community locations through various after-school and summer academic enrichment programs, will be offering a free summer learning program at Pompano Beach Middle School this year. Cool Kids Learn state that they owe this opportunity to a generous grant from the Children’s Services Council of Broward County.

School Tools for Cool Kids a Roaring Success!
Cool Kids Lean, Inc., Publix and Comcast partner to send cool kids back to school in style. Publix shoppers in Dade County, Florida were encouraged to keep less-fortunate children in mind while they shopped for back-to-school items this past summer. In an effort spearheaded by Publix, Comcast and Cool Kids Learn, Inc. to make this school year a success for every child, families could not only purchase items for themselves, but could also add a few extra items to their cart to donate to children in need.
